Connect with a Coach
The ABPANC Certification Coach is a volunteer certified nurse who assists CPAN® and CAPA® examination candidates, at the grassroots level, to prepare for the certification examination. Volunteers for this position are able to speak passionately about the value of CPAN and CAPA certification and are willing to assist and encourage not-yet-certified colleagues in becoming certified.
Working with a Certification Coach is a no-cost stress-free way to learn more about the exams and how they are structured; best ways to study; and tips for being successful.
The Coach may organize study groups and serve as a resource to perianesthesia nurses seeking certification. You may also choose to work one-on-one with a coach in a way that is best for your style. Through the process of asking questions and learning about their exam experiences, you can identify strategies and resources that work best for you to reach your goals.

Upcoming Change to the Certification Coach Program
The ABPANC Certification Coach program will remain available through December 2026.
We’re grateful to the certified CPAN® and CAPA® nurses who have served as coaches and offered encouragement and guidance to candidates preparing for certification. As ABPANC continues to grow and expand exam preparation support, we will be transitioning away from the current Certification Coach program, with the program concluding at the end of 2026.
In the meantime—and looking ahead—ABPANC is developing additional free exam preparation resources for candidates, with new tools and support rolling out throughout 2026 and 2027. We encourage you to check back for updates as new resources become available.
