CPPN
ABPANC is developing an exam for perianesthesia nurses who primarily care for pediatric patients. The Certified Pediatric Perianesthesia Nurse (CPPN) exam is anticipated to debut in 2027. Inaugural CPPN exam development volunteers must be current RNs and actively working in pediatric perianesthesia nursing.
Various groups of volunteers will be needed in 2026 and 2027 to complete CPPN exam development.
The CPPN Job Analysis Task Force is responsible for reviewing and refining the draft inventory of knowledge and tasks and group them into content domains. The JATF will identify the demographic questions and rating scales to be used for a survey. (The survey will solicit input from other practitioners to support the task and knowledge inventory process.) The task force will review the results and feedback of the survey to develop the CPPN Examination Content Outline.
Volunteer Eligibility
Volunteers should hold a current RN license and have recent, hands-on experience in pediatric perianesthesia nursing—such as working in a pediatric PACU, same-day surgery, or related setting.
