Earning Contact Hours

CPAN® and CAPA® certified nurses may earn contact hours through a variety of predetermined continual learning activities including Continuing Education, Academic Coursework, Teaching Activities, Authorship Activities, Facilitating Quality Care, and Serving as Resources/Leaders. Refer to the Recertification Handbook for a complete description of each type of activity that is acceptable, determining the number of contact hours earned as well as whether the activity is Direct Care or Indirect Care, and the type of documentation of participation that would be required.
