About Us
The American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification, Inc., (ABPANC)
is a not-for-profit corporation established in 1985 by the American Society
of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) for
the purpose of sponsoring a certification program for registered nurses
caring for patients who have experienced anesthesia. ABPANC's activities
and projects are focused on achieving its mission and vision
ABPANC sponsors two certification programs for qualified Registered Nurses:
the CPAN® program (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) and the CAPA®
program (Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse).
